In a world of permanent evolution, we are overstimulated by work and daily life. Sometimes we don’t even perceive our surroundings any more. To valorise it again and to give us a new perspective, we have to step back to get some distance. We try to remove the unnecessary and start to abstract. The empty dominates.

White. – Black. – Break.

Our mind is calming down. We concentrate on the essential. Amidst this abstraction the little things – almost forgotten – gain in importance and are focussed. We sharpen our senses and discover hidden details. Their elegance and beauty appears in a different, unique and poetic way.

Influenced by my career as an architect, I feel attracted by bright spaces and clear and simple forms. My artwork reflects this affection and means for me ‘concentration’ in both senses: a kind of purification of the mind and the research to reduce the subject to its minimum, the so called essence.

Lines, geometric and organic forms visible in landscapes, sometimes floral motifs or portraits form the composition.

A subtle interplay of abstract and concrete elements reveals the subject only upon a closer inspection.

Minimalist photography is the basis of my artwork. It shows what I like most: Simplicity and purity. But if you look closely you can sometimes discover an interaction of light and shadow produced by the addition of acrylic paint and gold leaf. I’m combining thereby my photographic work with manual interventions and create a symbiosis of photography and classical techniques.
